Creme Brulee Recipe
Here’s a nice quick and simple Creme Brulee recipe to try. Its seriously tasty!!
Ingredients
4 eggs
vanilla
4 tbsp sugar
1 pint of thick cream
salt.
The tools you’ll need are:
A whisk, a small bowl, and a medium mixing bowl that’s microwave safe,6 ramekins, a roasting tray, an oven, and a microwave.
Preheat your oven to 350 F, 175C or Gas Mark 4.
Method
Separate the 4 eggs. Put the yolks into the small bowl and set aside for a minute.
Then into the medium mixing bowl put 4 tbsp of sugar and 1 pint of thick cream.
Then, in the medium size mixing bowl put 4 tbsp of sugar and 1 pint of thick cream. Stir gently with a whisk.Do not whisk! Next, put it into the microwave for 2 minutes to dissolve the sugar.
Meanwhile whisk the egg yolks a little.Just enough to break the yolks up and smooth it out.
When the sugar-cream mix is done in the microwave, stir it to make sure the sugar has dissolved. Stir in the eggs and whisk it well. Add a small pinch of salt and a teaspoon of vanilla.
After it is whisked well, pour the mixture into the ramekins and put the ramekins into a roasting tray.Place the tray in the oven and pour in enough hot water to come up halfway on the ramekins. It doesn’t have to be boiling, just hot.
Bake at 350F for 40 minutes. They should still be wobbly when you pull them out. It will firm up in the fridge, just like a cheesecake.
Let them cool a bit and then pop them into the fridge. It’s best to chill them overnight, but they are edible after a few hours of chilling.
When you’re ready to serve,sprinkle on some sugar.White,brown or vanilla sugar may be used. Then use a butane torch (if you have one) to melt the sugar or you can melt it under the grill.
Let the creme brulee cool for a minute,then serve and enjoy.
